The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has issued a warning to the public against fake social media accounts and individuals posing as agency officials, including Secretary Vince Dizon, for fraudulent activities.

In a public advisory, the DPWH said it has received reports of individuals making calls and sending messages while pretending to be the department’s top officials in an attempt to deceive people, solicit money, or obtain sensitive information.

The agency urged the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when dealing with suspicious communications, especially those requesting personal data, financial assistance, or favors under the guise of official transactions.

The department also identified a mobile number, +639099814019, as among those reported for impersonating DPWH officials and engaging in suspicious activities, including attempts to extract confidential information under false pretenses.

Authorities are encouraging the public to immediately report any fraudulent accounts, calls, or transactions to proper channels to prevent further incidents.
