The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is seeking a ₱300.96 billion budget for 2027, with the bulk of the proposed funding allocated for capital outlay and infrastructure projects, an official said during a Senate budget hearing Friday, Sept. 18.

DOTr Assistant Secretary Cecilia Bien presented the agency’s proposed 2027 budget under the National Expenditure Program (NEP) during the Senate hearing.

Of the proposed allocation, 81% is earmarked for capital outlay, while 11.75% is allocated for personnel services, with a significant portion of the budget intended to fund the agency’s infrastructure projects.
