

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), in coordination with several government agencies, offered free rides to commuters affected by the transport strike on Wednesday, July 22.
In a Facebook post, the DOTr said the initiative was carried out in compliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure that commuters have safe and accessible transportation despite the strike.
The free ride program operates during peak hours, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The routes covered by the program include Welcome Rotonda to Fairview; Recto to Cubao via Nagtahan; Quiapo to Cubao via E. Rodriguez; Quiapo to Fairview; Kalentong to Pasig Palengke; and PITX to Lawton and vice versa.
The DOTr said it is implementing the program in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
