The Department of Transportation (DOTr), together with New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation led by its Chairman Ramon Ang, conducted an inspection at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday, October 23, in preparation for the expected surge of passengers during the Undas season.

According to New NAIA Infra Corp. General Manager Angelito Alvarez, the airport is ready for the influx of travelers during the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day holidays, with an estimated 1.35 million passengers expected to pass through NAIA over a 10-day period.

“Nag-improve ng husto ang pass experience. Ang on-time performance ngayon ay lumalampas na ng 85%. yan ay lagpas sa global standard na 85%,” Alvarez said.

Among the facilities inspected was the new mezzanine food hall, which is set to house 22 dining outlets by December or before the end of the year.

The inspection also highlighted the facial recognition kiosks at Terminal 3, which will allow passengers to check in without the need to manually present their boarding passes.

The DOTr assured the public that all measures are in place to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient airport operations throughout the Undas break.
