The Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) MRT-3 line (MRT-3) has clarified reports circulating on social media alleging heavy passenger congestion at Ayala Station during the morning peak of Friday, April 10.

In an official statement, the agency said: “Upon thorough verification, no significant queue or congestion was recorded at Ayala Station during the said time.” It added that station monitoring showed passenger volume across all MRT-3 stations, including Ayala Station, remained light around 6:30 a.m.

According to the report, Station Base monitoring and CCTV footage reviewed from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. confirmed that “no formation of long queues at the platform” occurred, contradicting the viral post.

The agency also pointed out inconsistencies in the circulating content, noting that the same social media user who uploaded the video was reportedly seen traveling along Commonwealth Avenue at around 8:30 a.m., which does not align with the claimed time and location of the footage.

DOTr-MRT-3 further said that a similar image showing long queues at Ayala Station had previously circulated on April 8, 2026, which was later verified and attributed to a temporary track issue that caused increased passenger volume at around 6:30 p.m. that day.

The agency stated it has reached out to the concerned social media user to verify the context and timing of the video.

“We urge the public to exercise caution and verify information before sharing, as misleading posts may cause unnecessary concern among commuters,” the statement added.

The DOTr reiterated its call for responsible sharing of online content, especially regarding public transport conditions.
