

Quiapo Church, in coordination with the Manila Police District, has issued detailed guidelines for devotees attending the 2026 Black Nazarene celebrations, emphasizing safety, spiritual participation, and proper conduct during the Traslación.
General Guidelines from Quiapo Church:
- Do not climb to the 'andas' to see the image of the Black Nazarene.
- Avoid pushing to prevent injuries.
- Bring minimal items; use transparent bags for easier inspection.
- Devotees who are sick or children should stay at the sides of the road for safety.
- Do not skip meals to maintain strength during the procession.
- Wiping the image with handkerchiefs is allowed.
- Carrying the rope (lubid) or assisting with the carriage (pasanan) must be done carefully.
- Wearing hats or hoodies or using umbrellas is strictly prohibited.
- Camping tents are not allowed.
- Use transparent water bottles instead of tumblers.
- Avoid blocking the procession route.
- Children must wear identification tags if present.
- Follow designated entrances and exits.
- Stay alert and report suspicious activity to authorities.
- Maintain cleanliness; avoid leaving trash along the route.
Peace and Order:
- No vendors within controlled areas.
- No large banners (estandarte) or replicas.
- Drones are not allowed.
- Participants under the influence of alcohol are prohibited.
- Follow proper conduct in carrying the carriage and pulling the rope.
- Wiping the image with a handkerchief is allowed.
Prohibited Items (Guidelines from Manila Police District):
- Backpacks, stoves, picnic materials, umbrellas, hooded jackets, or selfie sticks.
- Sharp objects, knives, firearms, pyrotechnics, and glass containers.
- Any face covers like helmets, balaclavas, caps, or hoodies.
The new andas features a metal and glass enclosure, lighting, a sound system, CCTV, ventilation, and safety personnel to ensure the Black Nazarene is only accessible to devotees in a safe manner. The church stressed that the feast should be a celebration of faith, not a cause of injury or suffering, and called on all participants to cooperate with both church and government authorities to ensure a safe and orderly event.
