Croatian tennis athlete and fourth seed, Donna Vekic, booked the first finals slot at the inaugural WTA 125 Philippine Women’s Open after dispatching Russia’s Tatiana Prozorova, 6-2, 6-4, in the singles semifinals on Friday, January 30, at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Vekic asserted her authority early, controlling the tempo from the baseline to comfortably take the opening set.

Prozorova mounted a stronger challenge in the second, engaging the Croatian in longer rallies and testing her resolve, but Vekic remained composed and delivered at key moments.

The world No. 72 wrapped up the contest in just one hour and 15 minutes, showcasing her experience and consistency to advance to the championship round.
