A new group of artists received National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Ani ng Dangal award at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

There were more than 22 artists awarded, including actress Dolly de Leon and actors Billy Crawford, Joaquin Domagoso, and Jeric Gonzales.

The award was given to those who received international recognition in architecture, cinema, dance, dramatic arts, literary arts, music, visual arts, folk arts, and broadcast arts.

"A Thousand Cuts" a film by Ramona Diaz was also awarded for Outstanding Social Issue Documentary.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. honored the event with his presence supporting the artists.

"Nagtitiwala ako na kung pauunlarin natin ang industriyang ito, higit tayong makatutulong sa paglago ng ating ekonomiya, at maiangat ang Pilipino saan mang dako ng daigdig," said the president.
