

The preliminary investigation into the obstruction of justice complaint against Sen. Robin Padilla proceeded on Oct. 9, Justice Department spokesperson Polo Martinez confirmed Saturday.
Martinez said the next hearing in the case has been scheduled for Nov. 6, 2026.
“The Department confirms that the preliminary investigation involving Sen. Robin Padilla in connection with a complaint for obstruction of justice proceeded yesterday, October 9,” Martinez said in a Viber message.
“As confirmed by the handling prosecution panel, the next hearing is scheduled for November 6, 2026,” he added.
Padilla is facing the complaint over allegations that he helped Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa evade authorities amid efforts to serve an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Dela Rosa.
Martinez said the department may provide further information as developments in the proceedings warrant.
