The Department of Justice (DOJ) has received the “voluminous” documents from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) concerning the United States (US) government’s extradition request for Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

"Yes. We confirm this statement on the receipt of voluminous documents from the DFA earlier today, August 7, 2026," DOJ Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez confirmed.

On Thursday, the DFA confirmed that it has received the formal request to extradite Quiboloy. The KOJC founder is facing multiple cases in the US and is included in the country’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Most Wanted List.

He is wanted for his alleged participation in labor trafficking, fraudulently obtained visas, and forcing the members of his church to solicit donations for a bogus charity.

Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros, who chairs the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, said it was “about time” for Quiboloy to be extradited to the US.

“He trafficked women and girls from around the world. Justice demands that he answer for these crimes in the very places he committed them,” the senator said.

The pastor was arrested inside the KOJC compound in September 2024.

He remains detained at the Pasig City Jail and is facing non-bailable qualified human trafficking and sexual abuse charges.
