The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed on Thursday that it has not yet received any formal complaint from the Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) regarding its reported plan to file an Obstruction of Justice case against Senator Robin Padilla.

The proposed complaint stems from allegations that Padilla assisted Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa in leaving the Senate premises during the early hours of May 14.

DOJ Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez clarified the status of the matter during a press briefing.

“As of 4 p.m. today, the DOJ docket section has not yet received any such complaint from the CIDG. Thank you,” Martinez said.

As of writing, no formal charges have been docketed or evaluated by the DOJ in connection with the reported incident.

The agency said it will act on the matter once an official complaint is properly filed and transmitted through its docket system.

Both Senator Robin Padilla and Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa remain the subject of public attention following earlier reports surrounding the Senate incident, though no case has yet been officially filed.
