Department of Justice (DOJ) Assistant Secretary Randolph Pascasio was sworn in as Associate Justice under the Court of Appeals (CA) on Thursday, August 6.

In a report by RH 9 Tina Nolasco, the DOJ extended its greetings to the newly-appointed appellate justice, who was previously a career executive service officer before serving in the executive branch of the public sector.

He was also a Presidential staff officer before becoming the director of the Office of the President – Presidential Management Staff under six consecutive presidents.

The DOJ described Pascasio as a “trained problem-solver” and “critical thinker” who found purpose in public service, adding that his new judiciary appointment was a peak in a “distinguished” career.

The department recounted that, among his notable achievements are leading the creation of the Special Committee on Human Rights Coordination (SCHRC), led the DOJ delegation to the Constructive Dialogue/Revalida with the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (UNCERD) that took place in Geneva, Switzerland in 2003, and represented the Justice Secretary during a study visit of the Judicial and Bar Council in Belgium and Spain in 2024.
