The Department of Health-Central Luzon (DOH-Central Luzon) has logged 1,027 new COVID-19 cases in the region.
In a statement, DOH-Central Luzon said that the new cases were recorded from May 14 to May 20.
“Five of these cases are considered severe and critical cases with Zero deaths verified during the past week,” it said.
Despite the COVID-19 increase, the department noted that the number of Intensive Care Units (ICU) beds remained low at 9% and the non-ICU beds at 18%.
Meanwhile, DOH-Central Luzon is reminding the public to continuously practice the minimum public health standards such as washing of hands, adhere to isolation protocols, and getting their COVID-19 vaccines.
It also encourages them to observe physical distance and wearing of face masks in public and crowded places.
