

The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 28 firecracker-related injury cases from December 21 to 4:00 a.m. of December 25, based on data from 62 sentinel hospitals nationwide.
The DOH siad this figure reflects eight new cases added since December 21 and is 50 percent lower compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the DOH, 19 of the victims are 19 years old and below, accounting for 68 percent of the total cases, while 32 percent are aged 20 and above.
Most injuries were caused by illegal or dangerous fireworks such as 5-Star, Boga, and Triangle
The DOH reiterated its warning of “Huwag magpaputok” and urged the public to seek immediate medical attention in case of firecracker-related injuries.
The agency also reminded the public to call 911 for emergency medical assistance.
