Motorists should expect another sigh of relief as pump prices of diesel could be slashed again starting on Tuesday, April 28.
According to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort, diesel prices are set to drop by ₱12.94 per liter starting Tuesday, April 27, while gasoline will see a modest increase of ₱0.53 per liter, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
In a press briefing, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said diesel prices are expected to range from ₱75.93 to ₱101.96 per liter from April 28 to May 4.
Meanwhile, kerosene will also see a significant price cut of ₱15.71 per liter, while gasoline prices will move in the opposite direction with a slight upward adjustment.
This marks the third consecutive week of fuel price rollbacks following a series of double-digit increases triggered by tensions in the Middle East.
Garin emphasized that recent ceasefire developments and peace talks between the United States and Iran have helped ease pressure on global oil markets.
PH fuel inventory increased
The DOE also reported improved fuel supply levels in the country.
As of April 24, diesel inventory stands at 54.61 days, gasoline at 53.91 days, kerosene at 168.74 days, jet fuel at 70.83 days, fuel oil at 67.55 days, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at 38.44 days.
The agency said the current fuel stocks are expected to last until mid-June, ensuring short-term stability in domestic supply despite ongoing global market fluctuations.
