Dr. Liza Ramoso-Ong, cardiologist and health vlogger Doc Willie Ong’s wife, announced on Tuesday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Dr. Liza said the diagnosis came six weeks ago and that she is set to undergo 12 sessions of chemotherapy, then a mastectomy.

“Na-diagnose ako ng breast cancer 6 weeks ago. Kailangan ko matapos ang 12 weeks ng chemotherapy at 4 na immunotherapy at sa huli ay opera para tanggalin ang right breast,” she said in a Facebook post.

“Kaya ko ito at lalabanan ko ito. Tuloy-tuloy pa din kami sa pag-gawa ng health tips para sa inyo,” she assured.

In a video, Dr. Willie Ong said they were unsure as to which stage the cancer was in, stage 1 or 2. He shared that, as of yesterday, Dr. Liza has undergone six chemotherapy sessions.

“Huwag tayo matatakot sa needle biopsy, hindi naman kakalat kasi pag hindi siya biniopsy, hindi malalaman na may cancer pala. Huwag rin matatakot sa chemotherapy, kailangan ‘yun para hindi kumalat ‘yung cancer sa buto at ibang parte pa,” he advised his viewers.

Dr. Willie Ong himself is battling stage 4 sarcoma cancer, although his condition remains stable under maintenance treatment.
