The Department of National Defense (DND) said it is closely monitoring the security situation in the Middle East in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and other relevant government agencies, amid escalating tensions in the region.
In a statement, the DND assured the public that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) stands ready to assist in humanitarian and evacuation operations if directed by national authorities.
The department emphasized that, at present, the conflict remains contained within the Middle East and that there is no credible or direct threat to Philippine territory or to Filipino and foreign nationals in the country.
Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant against disinformation and condemned efforts to spread panic during a time of heightened global uncertainty. The DND stressed the importance of relying on verified government advisories and official channels for updates.
Despite the absence of an immediate threat, the DND and AFP said they are prepared to respond to possible contingencies, including repatriation support and crisis coordination for Filipinos in affected countries should conditions deteriorate. The government reiterated that the protection and welfare of overseas Filipinos remain a top priority, particularly as security developments in the region continue to evolve.
