Two Filipino seafarers who were injured in an apparent drone attack on the Cameroon-flagged oil tanker M/V Blue in the Black Sea arrived safely in the Philippines on Tuesday, July 15.

The two crew members arrived Wednesday evening aboard Turkish Airlines Flight TK084, which landed at Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.

Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by representatives from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Bureau of Immigration (BI), and other government agencies.

The injured seafarers received financial assistance from the DMW and OWWA before being turned over to their licensed manning agency.

The DMW directed the manning agency to ensure the seafarers receive continued medical treatment and psychosocial support as they recover from their injuries.

The agency also reported that three other Filipino crew members who sustained burn injuries during the incident had earlier been evacuated from the vessel and are currently receiving treatment at onshore medical facilities.

According to the DMW, the Cameroon-flagged oil and product tanker M/V Blue, carrying 18 Filipino crew members, reportedly came under an apparent drone attack while transiting the Black Sea on July 8, 2026.

The attack damaged the vessel's stern, including its propeller and engine room, and triggered a fire that was later extinguished.

All crew members were reported safe following the incident.
