Thirty-four overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and one of their relatives from Qatar safely returned to the Philippines on Saturday, May 16, amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The repatriates arrived aboard Qatar Airways Flight QR934, which landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
They were welcomed and assisted by officials from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the medical team of the Manila International Airport Authority, in coordination with the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation.
Under the government’s Post-Repatriation Program, the returning OFWs will receive immediate medical assistance, financial aid, temporary shelter, and transportation support for their return to their respective provinces.
According to the DMW, the initiative is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to continue strengthening government measures that ensure the safety, welfare, and successful reintegration of OFWs as they begin anew in the Philippines.
The latest repatriation came a day after 313 OFWs and six dependents returned to the country from Kuwait on Friday, May 15, 2026.
