In-person and online classes at the De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila campus have been suspended from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, October 26, the Office of the Provost announced.
According to the university’s official student publication, The Lasallian, classes from 6:00 PM onwards will shift online.
Moreover, office work on the Manila campus is also suspended from 1:00 PM onwards.
“Access to the Manila campus is restricted,” DLSU said in an announcement.
On Monday afternoon, students and personnel were ordered to evacuate the campus following an undisclosed security threat, to give way for authorities to conduct a security assessment, RH Tina Nolasco reported.
In an update, the Malate Police Station (PS-9) confirmed that the bomb threat was sent via email at around 11:10 AM. Upon receipt, DLSU security directors immediately reported the threat to the police.
As of writing, security assessment, including bomb sweep and panelling inside the campus, is ongoing. The MPD EOD/K9 unit is also coordinating with the Anti-Cybercrime Team to determine the sender of the email.
