Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo inspected the completed three-meter revetment wall along the Bicol River in Naga City on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The project is designed to help prevent the river from overflowing and provide additional flood protection to low-lying areas, including Barangays Triangulo and Tabuco, which are vulnerable to flooding.
The inspection was conducted as the government strengthens flood mitigation measures under Oplan Kontra Baha (OKB), following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to reduce flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Dizon and Robredo also inspected the ongoing construction of the Naga City sidewalk and active transport project along M.T. Villanueva Avenue.
The project is expected to improve mobility and safety for pedestrians, commuters, and cyclists.
