Motorists will face higher prices for petroleum products this week as new price hikes took effect on Tuesday, June 9.
Diesel and kerosene are set for sharp increases, while gasoline prices may move either up or down, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
Based on the latest advisory, the DOE said the following price adjustments can be expected on June 9, Tuesday:
- Diesel P3.77 — P5.77 hike
- Gasoline P1.70 rollback or P0.30 hike
- Kerosene P6.10 — P8.10 hike
The DOE said oil companies are required to follow the government-imposed oil price adjustments amid the ongoing state of national energy emergency.
The DOE also assured the public that the country maintains a fuel inventory sufficient for more than 47 days, helping cushion potential supply disruptions.
According to the agency, the movement in domestic pump prices reflects fluctuations in the global oil market, driven by continuing developments in the Middle East, which have affected international supply and pricing trends.
