Diesel and kerosene prices are up; gasoline rollback is set for the first Tuesday of 2026—DOE
by Elijah Gaven Mitra05 January 2026

Motorists will see mixed fuel price adjustments on the first Tuesday of 2026, January 6, as diesel and kerosene prices increase while gasoline prices slightly go down, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).

Fuel companies are set to raise diesel prices by ₱0.20 per liter and kerosene by ₱0.10 per liter, while gasoline will have a ₱0.10 per liter rollback. The adjustments will take effect at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The DOE said the price movements are influenced by global oil market trends, including higher demand for diesel and kerosene due to winter consumption abroad, as well as fluctuations in international crude prices and the peso-dollar exchange rate. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, eased slightly amid ample global supply.

The agency advised motorists and consumers to plan fuel purchases wisely and assured the public that it continues to monitor fuel price movements to ensure fair and transparent pricing.
