The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has announced possible delays in the release of new Philippine passports, citing logistical and supply chain disruptions linked to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
In an advisory issued Wednesday, the DFA said passport applications filed starting the last week of March 2026 may be affected. Applicants are advised to expect a processing time of 10 to 15 working days from the date of application until further notice. The agency assured the public that it is actively coordinating with its third-party ePassport printing provider to address the issue and restore normal operations as soon as possible. For urgent or emergency concerns, applicants may contact the DFA Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) Aseana through the following emails: oca.concerns@dfa.gov.ph for general concerns and passportconcerns@dfa.gov.ph for passport-related inquiries. The DFA urged the public to plan their travel documents ahead of time and remain patient as efforts continue to resolve the delays.
