The Philippines and Australia are maintaining close cooperation in the ongoing investigation of the December 2025 Bondi Beach attack.

During a press briefing, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett lauded the Philippines’ support, highlighting coordination with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Philippine law enforcement agencies.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed initial assessments by the Philippine National Police (PNP), stating that the two suspects who traveled to the Philippines in November showed no evidence of training or logistical preparation for the attack, consistent with the Australian Federal Police’s findings.

The attack, which occurred during a Hanukkah celebration attended by around 1,000 people, left 15 dead and approximately 40 injured. One suspect has died, while the other remains in custody.

DFA Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to combating terrorism and violent extremism, and strengthening intelligence and law enforcement cooperation with Australia and other foreign partners.
