NLEX import DeQuan Jones was taken to the hospital after suffering a gruesome right leg injury during the third quarter of the Road Warriors’ 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup game against TNT on Tuesday at the Ynares Center.

With 7:27 left in the third quarter, Jones landed awkwardly as TNT center Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser fell onto his leg.

The injury forced Jones to leave the game after he had already scored 23 points and grabbed four rebounds for NLEX.

Despite losing a 10-point lead following Jones’ exit, the Road Warriors battled back after falling behind by five points late in regulation.

The second of Robert Bolick’s two four-pointers sent the game into overtime tied at 107-all.

With NLEX leading 116-111, Bolick sealed the comeback with a steal from Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson and a fastbreak assist to Tony Semerad, who gave the Road Warriors a seven-point cushion with 46.2 seconds remaining.

NLEX coach Jimmy Alapag expressed his concern for Jones following the game.

“My deepest prayers go to DJ. More than the basketball player, it’s the person. His value to this team goes far beyond what he can do in the basketball game, but it’s the person,” Alapag said.

The extent of Jones’ injury was not immediately disclosed.
