The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued a warning to the public regarding a circulating Facebook post claiming the addition of a Grade 13 level in the upcoming school year 2025–2026.
In a statement released on Sunday, DepEd dismissed the post as "fake news" and urged the public to be cautious and discerning when consuming information online.
"Fake news ang kumakalat na Facebook post tungkol sa umano’y dagdag na Grade 13 sa Senior High School para sa SY 2025–2026," the statement read.
"Muling pinaaalalahanan ng DepEd ang publiko na mag-ingat at maging mapanuri laban sa misinformation," it added.
DepEd also clarified that all official announcements and information regarding basic education will only be posted through their verified social media accounts.
