The Department of Education (DepEd) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has recorded more than 20 cases of bullying and child abuse during School Year 2026–2027.
In Baguio City, authorities recorded 10 cases of bullying and seven cases of child abuse. Benguet reported two bullying cases and three child abuse cases., according to a report by RH Romy Gonzales.
Meanwhile, one bullying case was recorded in Ifugao, while Apayao reported two cases of child abuse. Tabuk City also recorded one bullying case during the current school year.
Despite the reported cases, DepEd Cordillera said its programs and measures to prevent bullying in schools remain in place.
The agency also cited DepEd Order No. 006, Series of 2026, which provides guidelines for understanding and implementing the department's anti-bullying policies in schools.
