The Department of Education–Cordillera Administrative Region (DepEd-CAR) has recorded 20 cases of bullying in the region for the School Year 2024–2025.
According to a report by RH 41 Romy Gonzales, seven of these incidents occurred in elementary school, six in public schools and one in a private school.
Based on DepEd-CAR data, this year’s figure is lower than the 36 bullying cases recorded in School Year 2023–2024.
Of the previous year’s total, 26 incidents happened in elementary schools with 13 in public schools and three in private institutions.
Meanwhile, 10 cases were recorded in secondary schools, all in public institutions.
In response, various school division offices in the region are actively implementing several interventions and programs aimed at reducing bullying in schools.
These measures include general orientations on the Child Protection Policy, the Home and School Partnership Association Program, staff training.
Moreover, capacity-building initiatives focused on learners’ rights and protection, designation of coordinators for anti-bullying efforts, and anti-harassment training for coaches and athletes.
