

The death toll from the collapse of a nine-story building under construction in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City has risen to 30 after rescuers recovered another victim from the rubble shortly after midnight on Tuesday, June 9.
According to Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Luzon, the latest victim was extricated from the collapse site at 12:18 a.m., bringing the total number of confirmed fatalities to 30.
Hours earlier, at 9:37 p.m. on Monday, authorities also recovered the remains of the 29th victim during ongoing search, rescue, and retrieval operations.
The latest recovery came after a two-day gap in the operation. Prior to Monday night's extraction, the last victim was recovered on Saturday, June 6, at 9:56 p.m.
Authorities said clearing operations continue at the site, with approximately 30 percent of the debris already removed.
Search and retrieval teams, along with heavy equipment, remain deployed despite intermittent rains affecting the area.
