

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has secured approval from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to create 90 new regular positions for its Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG).
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said the new plantilla posts will strengthen the agency’s capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters, while also providing job security for its personnel.
Approved positions are in provision for 43 regular and one contractual post will be assigned to the Disaster Response and Management Bureau (DRMB).
Meanwhile, 45 regular and one contractual post will go to the National Resource Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB).
These DSWD divisions are responsible for preparing and repacking relief goods for distribution nationwide during calamities and emergencies.
Secretary Gatchalian expressed gratitude to DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman for approving the additional plantilla positions, emphasizing that this move will significantly boost the DSWD’s disaster preparedness and relief operations.
