The defense will continue its cross-examination of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) witness Atty. Anne Loraine Garcia-Marquez when the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte resumes at 10 a.m. Friday.
If her testimony concludes within the day, the prosecution may present its next witness, financial analyst Atty. Alexander Cabrera.
Impeachment court spokesperson Regie Tongol said Cabrera is expected to connect the testimonies and financial records presented by previous witnesses, including those from the Anti-Money Laundering Council, BIR, banks and other financial institutions, to the allegations of unexplained wealth under Article 2 of the impeachment complaint.
Tongol said Cabrera will explain the possible links among Duterte’s Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs), bank records, tax records, and the income of corporations or entities associated with the vice president and her husband.
