The Senate impeachment court will resume the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday, October 1, with proceedings expected to focus on allegations of unexplained wealth.
The 32nd day of the trial was originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, but the impeachment court cancelled the session to observe what it described as a “strategic procedural pause.”
Starting October 1, the trial will be conducted for a full day, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until early evening. No Senate plenary sessions will be held while the impeachment proceedings are ongoing.
The impeachment court is also expected to hear testimony from two provincial officials regarding properties reportedly linked to Duterte’s husband, Manases Carpio.
The proceedings will continue with the presentation and examination of evidence related to the allegations against the Vice President.
