Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte on social media posted a sarcastic message about being followed by operatives in Davao City, joking that he feels like a “VIP” because of what he described as constant surveillance.
In his post, Duterte claimed that he is being frequently monitored and suggested that authorities appear to be highly familiar with his movements.
“VIP na pala ako? Lahat na lang yata ng operatives sinusundan ako sa Davao,” he said in the post, adding in English that he “feels safe” with what he described as security backup.
He also made ironic remarks about the perceived intensity of surveillance, saying operatives seemed more updated on his schedule than his own staff.
Duterte further commented on the vehicles reportedly being used in the monitoring, suggesting that official units should avoid using fuel-heavy SUVs and instead shift to electric vehicles.
“Next time wag Land Cruiser gamitin nyo. Kawawa naman hiniraman niyo, nakakahiya mahal gasolina. EV na muna gamitin niyo,” he said.
He also extended a tongue-in-cheek invitation to the operatives to visit his home, saying they could be served food and refreshments, though he added a sarcastic remark about certain local delicacies not being offered.
“Pag gusto niyo pasukin bahay ko… imbitahin ko na kayo may merienda pa,” he said, while joking about serving snacks such as coffee, bibingka, suman, and siopao.
Duterte ended his post by saying that if the activity was indeed part of an investigation, he appeared to be “one of the most closely monitored individuals in the country,” adding, “Sana all.”
