The Dasmariñas Component City Police Station has debunked reports circulating on social media about an alleged mass shooting incident in the city, saying an investigation found no factual basis to substantiate the claim.
Police said the reported shooting was thoroughly verified by its Investigation Section, which found no evidence confirming that a mass shooting had occurred. Authorities urged the public to refrain from sharing or reposting unverified information that could cause unnecessary alarm.
Meanwhile, police clarified that the discovery of a deceased person inside a vehicle on the evening of September 30, 2026, within the premises of the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute in Barangay Burol Main, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, was a separate incident.
The Dasmariñas CCPS warned that linking the death to the alleged mass shooting is inaccurate and misleading and said appropriate police action has been undertaken regarding the circulating information.
Authorities reminded the public to rely only on official and verified sources, noting that individuals who deliberately create or spread false and misleading information may face appropriate legal action under existing laws.
