The Quiapo Church officially revealed the logo and theme for the Pambansang Kapistahan ng Mahal na Poong Hesus Nazareno 2026, bearing the title “Nazareno 2026: Debosyon • Traslacion • Misyon” and the theme “Dapat Siyang Tumaas, at Ako Nama’y Bumaba” (Juan 3:30).
According to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, the logo’s design captures three core values that define the Filipino devotion to the Nazareno: Pagpupuri (Praise), Kababaang-Loob (Humility), and Pananampalataya (Faith). Each element symbolizes how Christ should be exalted not only during the Traslacion but also in the daily lives of the faithful.
Pagpupuri — “Dapat Siyang Tumaas”
At the heart of the logo stands the image of Jesus the Nazarene being lifted high — a powerful representation of praise and worship. This signifies the faithful’s call to glorify Christ through service, compassion, and faith.
The radiant light emanating from Christ symbolizes His eternal glory that continues to guide believers amid life’s struggles. In the Traslacion, as the Nazarene is raised high for all to see, it reminds the faithful that exalting Christ in our lives allows others to know Him more deeply.
Kababaang-Loob — “…At Ako Nama’y Bumaba”
Humility, as depicted in the logo, is expressed through two devotees carrying the andas of the Nazareno — a reflection of selflessness and sacrifice.
The act of lifting the image is possible only because others are willing to bow down. This visual encapsulates the Gospel teaching that true greatness is found in humility.
The child included in the imagery recalls the message from Matthew 18:4: “Ang sinumang nagpapakababa na gaya ng batang ito ay siyang pinakadakila sa kaharian ng langit.”
Pananampalataya — “Dapat Siyang Tumaas at Ako Nama’y Bumaba”
Faith serves as the foundation of the 2026 theme. The white cloth enveloping the logo represents the handkerchiefs (panyo) that devotees traditionally touch to the image of the Nazareno — a symbol of deep prayer and hope.
Meanwhile, the rope surrounding the design illustrates the unity and shared faith of millions of devotees during the Traslacion.
Behind the emblem stands the Quiapo Church, a lasting symbol of Filipino faith — steadfast, humble, and full of praise.
In every detail, the Nazareno 2026 logo reflects the faithful’s call to live out the message of John 3:30: “Dapat Siyang Tumaas, at Ako Nama’y Bumaba.”
It serves as a reminder that devotion to the Black Nazarene is not merely an annual tradition, but a lifelong journey of praise, humility, and faith.
The Church encourages devotees to stay tuned to their official social media pages for updates on the upcoming festivities and preparations for Traslacion 2026, and to remain vigilant against misinformation and unofficial announcements.
