Filipino band Cup of Joe has announced plans to take a temporary break after its upcoming concert in December, assuring fans that they will return stronger.
The announcement was made during the band's recent Sandali Sessions, a Halloween-themed event where its members dressed up as members of British boy band One Direction, prompting speculation that they would also be taking a hiatus.
The group explained that the break would allow its members to focus on themselves and take time to rest after years of performing and producing music.
The temporary hiatus will begin after their scheduled Cup of Joe Symphony concerts on December 3 and 4, which will serve as their temporary farewell performances before taking a break.
Despite the announcement leaving many fans, known as Joewas, saddened, supporters expressed their understanding and continued support, saying the band deserves time for themselves.
Cup of Joe celebrated its eighth anniversary last September. More recently, its song “Sandali” was submitted for Grammy consideration in the Best Asian Pop Performance category.
