Showbiz vlogger Cristy Fermin was acquitted from the cyberlibel case filed by actor Dominic Roque in 2024 on Wednesday, February 18.

In May 2024, Dominic filed a case against Cristy over “malicious statements and innuendos” that the latter discussed in her YouTube show “Showbiz Now Na.”

According to Presiding Judge Manuel Gerard C. Tomacruz, who signed Cristy’s acquittal paper, the prosecution was unable to establish “beyond a reasonable doubt” the veracity or falsity of Cristy’s statements, nor could they prove these were “made with reckless disregard.”

Recently, Bea Alonzo dropped her cyberlibel case against Cristy. Celebrity couple Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan also withdrew their case, while Sarah Lahbati’s case was junked due to insufficiency of evidence.
