

Criss Cross captured its maiden championship in the 2026 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference, defeating Savouge Spin Doctors, 3-1, in the winner-take-all Game 3 on Sunday at the Filoil Centre.
The King Crunchers sealed the title with a 28-26, 25-17, 26-28, 25-23 victory over the Spin Doctors, capping a tightly contested finals series.
Criss Cross drew first blood in the best-of-three championship with a four-set win, 25-20, 26-28, 25-18, 25-20, but Savogue forced a decider after sweeping Game 2, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19.
In the clincher, the King Crunchers leaned on composure in the closing stretch of each set, particularly in the fourth frame, where they fended off a late rally by the Spin Doctors to secure the franchise’s first title.
The opening set set the tone for the match, with both teams trading points before Criss Cross edged ahead in extended play. The King Crunchers carried the momentum into the second set with a more dominant showing.
Savouge Aesthetics refused to go quietly, surviving another tight battle in the third set to extend the match. But Criss Cross regrouped in the fourth, holding off the Spin Doctors’ push to finally clinch the championship.
The victory marked a breakthrough for the King Crunchers, who completed a redemption run after a back-and-forth finals series.
