Senator Lito Lapid expressed his support for Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson’s decision to return as chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, which will lead the investigation into alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

According to RH Raymund Dadpaas' report, Lapid said that Lacson is a highly capable investigator, and it is only fitting that he continues the work he started.

“Welcome na welcome. Credible naman talaga siya. Naging chief PNP ‘yan. Naging imbestigador ‘yan,” Lapid said.

He added, “Magandang ibinalik sa kanya kasi alam ng taumbayan kapag nag-imbestiga ‘yan totoo. Walang kaplastikan, walang kinakampihan. Kaya tamang-tama ‘yun. Tama ang desisyon niya” paliwanag ng senador.

Lapid noted that the public holds Lacson in high regard when it comes to investigations because people trust that he is truthful in his work.

The senator emphasized that Lacson is fair and impartial, which makes his decision to return as chairperson of the Blue Ribbon Committee appropriate.

Both Lapid and Lacson are members of the so-called “Macho Block” in the Senate.

With the resumption of Senate sessions on November 10, Lacson is expected to be reinstated as chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee by the Plenary.

He reiterated that the public trusts Lacson’s investigative work, making his return a welcome development.
