Among the main reasons why couples choose to skip church weddings are financial burdens and time-consuming requirements, according to a church-based survey,
In the latest Veritas Truth Survey (VTS) results, when asked what is the "most difficult obstacle in doing a church wedding," 32% of respondents said "cost," while 24% said "requirements."
According to the survey, male respondents outnumbered female respondents by 38 percent to 28 percent.
Females accounted for 24 percent of those who reasoned "requirements," while males accounted for 23 percent.
Other reasons are the process/interview (16%), attire (8%), and conflict of faith (6%).
The remaining 14% is still undecided.
The survey was conducted between January 5 and February 10, involving a stratified random sample of 1,200 respondents from across the country using a text-based and online data collection process.
On the other hand, VTS's head, Bro. Clifford Sorita pointed out that church weddings do not have to be extravagant.
He went on to say that people should be educated about the true meaning of making vows in a religious ceremony.
