

Three police officers, and a civilian were killed by a fellow officer late Friday night in Barangay Tubtubon, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, according to information obtained from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office.
The victims were identified as Sibulan Police Station chief Capt. Jose Edrohil Cimafranca, Police Senior Master Sgt. Tristan Chua, and Patrolman Rey Albert Temblor and Sheila Mae Dinanao.
The suspect was identified as Police Staff Sgt. Bonifacio Saycon, also of the Sibulan police force.
The incident unfolded after Cimafranca celebrated his birthday with fellow officers at the police station.
The group, consisting of Cimafranca, Chua, Temblor, Saycon, PSSg Julius Cesar Fausto, and PCpl Franky Adriano, proceeded to SAB Resto Bar in Tubtubon, where they reportedly continued drinking.
At the bar, Saycon allegedly shot the woman, Dinanao. The group then left the bar, as they arrested Saycon.
Meanwhile, the remaining two officers, Fausto and Adriano, rode a motorcycle to fetch an ambulance for the woman at the Rural Health Unit.
On their way back to the police station, the two officers learned that Cimafranca, Chua, and Temblor had been shot along the highway near Toyota Motors in Sibulan. The victims were rushed to Polymedic Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
Saycon initially fled the scene but later surrendered to authorities at around 10:45 p.m. and is currently in custody at the Tanjay City Police Station. And turned over his issued firearm.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
