The Converge FiberXers have reached a major milestone in their PBA journey, securing their first-ever semifinals appearance since joining the league in 2022.
The FiberXers made history after defeating the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 120-109, in Game 4 of their PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup quarterfinals series on Friday, November 6, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Led by import Cameron Clark, who delivered 32 points and 12 rebounds, Converge overcame a late rally from Rain or Shine to seal the best-of-five series, 3-1.
Mikey Williams also played a crucial role, scoring 17 points and sinking back to back three pointers in the closing minutes to secure the historic victory.
The achievement marks a breakthrough for the franchise, which had repeatedly reached the quarterfinals but struggled to advance further since entering the league four years ago.
Head coach Delta Pineda credited the team's determination and resilience, emphasizing that the players remained focused despite the challenges throughout the game.
With their historic semifinals berth secured, the FiberXers will now face the NLEX Road Warriors as they continue their pursuit of an even bigger milestone, their first PBA Finals appearance.
For Converge, the victory is more than just another playoff win. It represents four years of hard work, growth, and determination finally paying off.
