

A 39-year-old construction worker was shot dead by his friend outside a restobar along the service road to Iloilo International Airport in Barangay Camambugan, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo Province, at around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Police Lieutenant Christopher Juarez, Deputy Chief of the Sta. Barbara Municipal Police Station, said the victim, identified only as “Lem,” and the suspect, “Jet,” both 39, had just left the restobar when the shooting occurred.
According to reports, Jet initially left the scene in his vehicle but returned carrying a .45 caliber pistol, firing multiple shots at Lem’s chest. Authorities recovered five spent .45 caliber shells at the scene.
Juarez confirmed that the suspect did not have a license to own or possess a firearm. Jet also admitted responsibility for the shooting.
The Sta. Barbara police confirmed that the suspect will face murder charges in connection with the incident.
