A department head of a private construction company is in stable condition after being shot by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects along McArthur Highway at the corner of Pag-IBIG Drive in Barangay Matina, Talomo District, Davao City, on the afternoon of January 19, 2026.

The victim, identified only by the alias “Melfred,” is the head of the ASD Equipment Services Department of BMQ Builders and Supply Corporation and a resident of Green Orchard Village, Cabantian, Davao City.

Police said the victim was driving his red Hyundai Accent when the suspects, riding a motorcycle, approached and opened fire, hitting him multiple times. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

The victim was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently recovering. Authorities have launched an investigation, reviewed CCTV footage in the area, and initiated a manhunt to identify and arrest the suspects.
