Antipolo City 2nd District Representative Romeo M. Acop passed away at the age of 78, his colleague, Manila 3rd District Representative Joel Chua, confirmed.
In a text message obtained by reporters, Acop was pronounced dead on the evening of December 20, 2025, following a sudden medical emergency at his residence.
Acop was a long-serving lawmaker known for his advocacy on public safety, law enforcement, and community development.
Before entering Congress, Acop served in law enforcement and later rose to national prominence as a public servant.
He was widely respected for his legislative work, particularly in promoting local government initiatives, public safety reforms, and social welfare programs.
