The incumbent and former lawmakers are facing preliminary investigations before the Office of the Ombudsman over conflicts of interest in infrastructure contracts.
According to Clavano, CWS Party-list Rep. Edwin Gardiola had already submitted his counter affidavit.
“We are awaiting the counter-affidavits from the other respondents aside from Rep. Gardiola, who has already submitted his counter affidavit,” he said, stating that Gardiola is facing a case for malversation and conflict of interest.
Meanwhile, the Ombudsman is awaiting the counter affidavits of Surigao 1st District Rep. Francisco “Lalo” Matugas and his son, former lawmaker Francisco “Bingo” Matugas II, at the preliminary investigation. They are facing malversation complaints over an alleged incomplete road project.
