Coach Jong Uichico will now be calling the shots for the NLEX Road Warriors.
The Road Warriors announced the appointment of the nine-time PBA champion coach on Friday, June 7, after confirming that the squad parted ways with Coach Frankie Lim.
"A nine-time PBA champion, Coach Jong will be at the helm as the Road Warriors continue our quest to win our first franchise championship," NLEX said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, NLEX did not disclose the reason for the departure of Lim.
The Road Warriors made two quarterfinals appearances while under the tutelage of Lim in the last two seasons of the PBA.
"Coach Frankie Lim will be stepping down as our head coach. We deeply appreciate his hard work, dedication, and his positive contributions to the team over the past 2 years," the Road Warriors said in a separate Facebook post.
Lim took over the reigns of NLEX after Coach Yeng Guiao parted ways with the team.
