Tensions escalated into violence during the demolition of around 300 houses along Panday Creek in Barangay Palingon, Taguig City, resulting n a bottle-throwing incident that injured six individuals.

According to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort, the injured were immediately given first aid by the rescue team from Wawa Fire Station.

First responders said the victims, all members of the demolition team, sustained minor injuries, including cuts to their hands and mouths after being hit by thrown bottles.

Chaos broke out as authorities began implementing the demolition order, with residents resisting the operation in the area.

Police personnel deployed at the site reported that glass bottles were thrown as they attempted to secure the demolition process.

The Taguig City Police Station said around 300 houses were subject for demolition under a writ issued by the court, which was being enforced by a sheriff with complete legal documentation. Around 300 police officers were also deployed to establish a barricade and maintain order in the area.

Despite prior appeals from PCol. Julius C. Añonuevo urging residents to avoid violence, the situation still escalated into confrontation.

Authorities said the demolition covers an estimated 17,000-square-meter private property where many of the structures have reportedly already been compensated. Officials added that the occupants were given nearly a year of notice and negotiations prior to the enforcement of the court order.

Police maintained that they were present solely to ensure peace and order and would not take action unless further disturbances occur from residents resisting the operation.
