Free agent guard-forward Jordan Clarkson has agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract to return to the New York Knicks, the team he helped win an NBA title last season.
Clarkson confirmed the move in an Instagram post, writing: “Still in this dream, NY! run it back! 🗽 love 🖤.”
The veteran swingman is coming off a productive first season with New York, where he provided scoring depth off the bench. In 72 regular-season games, including one start, Clarkson averaged 8.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 17.8 minutes per game.
He played a key role in the Knicks’ championship run, culminating in a 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on June 13. The win secured New York’s first NBA title since 1973.
Clarkson also made history during the title run, becoming the first Filipino-American player to win an NBA championship.
His return is expected to bolster the Knicks’ backcourt rotation as the team looks to defend its title in the upcoming season.
